Robert de Groot, manager of the Office of Experiential Education at the quake center, will give a free talk called “Shaking Out in Earthquake Country.”
The talk is scheduled for 7 p.m.
He plans to cover plate tectonics, faults, seismic maps, and other topics in earthquake science, Susan Cook of the library said.
De Groot also will give a primer on participating in the annual Great California ShakeOut drill, set for Oct. 18 this year.
Seating for the talk is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
