The fire was first reported at 2:52 p.m. and occurred near W. 11th and B streets, according to a Riverside County Fire Department report.
A total of four structures — two two-story homes under construction and two detached garages — were damaged in the fire.
According to Calfire Battalion Chief Ron Arbo, a total 10 trucks, along with air support, responded to the scene at 3:03 p.m. and contained the quickly spreading blaze by 3:37 p.m.
“(First responders) found one structure and one two-car detached garage fully involved and spreading (to other structures),” Battalion Chief Arbo said.
The lot has been vacant for the last six years and the structures had been scheduled for demolition, he said.
According to Arbo, a Calfire investigator is on the scene, combing through the debris and interviewing witnesses to determine the cause of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
