Fire rips through Moreno Valley strip mall

A fire burned at least three units in a Moreno Valley strip mall, authorities said today.

The fire at 13373 Perris Blvd. was reported at 11:51 p.m. Wednesday, said Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department. It was contained at 12:33 a.m., she said.

Some 40 firefighters from Riverside County and Calfire responded, Hagemann said.

The fire ran the length of the attic above all 10 of the strip mall’s units, according to Hagemann, who cited a fire captain at the scene.

Perris Boulevard was closed between Dracaea and Cottonwood avenues as firefighters battled the blaze, Hagemann said.
