An arrest was made today in the case of a man who allegedly attempted to lure middle-school-aged girls into his vehicle in Hemet, it was reported today.
Kareem Lewis, 33, was identified by Hemet police officials as the suspect in several child annoyance incidents between Feb. 13-17, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department report.
In each of the reported cases, the young girls did not approach the suspect’s vehicle and were unharmed.
According to officials, the Inland Regional Apprehension Team received information of a potential location in San Bernardino for suspect on Tuesday, April 17.
At approximately 1 a.m., after hours of surveillance, the apprehension team took Lewis into custody for his felony warrant.
He was transported to the Larry Smith Correctional Facility in Banning where he is currently being held on $1 million bail.
