The agency forecast highs today ranging from 90 to 98 degrees in the Inland Empire and from 77 to 87 degrees in the mountains. That’s about 10 to 20 degrees above normal for this time of year, according to the Weather Service.
The NWS forecast Riverside County highs today of 79 in Idyllwild; 92 in Temecula; 93 in Hemet; 97 in Riverside; 100 in Blythe; 102 in Thermal; and 103 in Palm Springs.
Weekend temperatures also are expected to be above normal but not as warm as today’s highs. The NWS forecast highs of 87 to 96 degrees for the Inland Empire on Saturday and from 82 to 91 on Sunday. In the mountains, highs are expected to be 79 to 89 degrees on Saturday and from 78 to 88 on Sunday.
