Officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to a call regarding a shooting, officials reported.
Once on the scene, officers learned that an argument had taken place in front of a residence. Right after the argument, a male adult in a dark hooded sweatshirt, whipped out a gun and fired several shots at the victim.
The shooting victim was hit twice in the leg and had already been transported to Riverside County Regional Medical Center by family members before paramedics arrived, a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department stated.
The Moreno Valley’s Special Enforcement Team investigated and learned several African-American males sped off in a white BMW after shooting the victim.
The driver led the officers on a pursuit and eventually stopped.
18-year-old Charles King was immediately arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on charges of attempted murder, a report stated.
Two juvenile passengers were also detained and booked into Riverside Juvenile Hall.
The Moreno Valley Police Department urges anyone with additional details about this crime to contact Investigator Viveros at 951-486-6700.
