The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire today recorded the largest daily increase since Feb. 29,rising 1.7 cents to $4.182.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has risen for three consecutive days, after declining 41 of the previous 42 days. It’s still 1.5 cents less than one week ago, 12.7 cents lower than one month ago and 6.9 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
“Oil industry analysts say California inventories of gasoline are low, and that could be contributing to the leveling off of prices,” said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
