Eight people were hospitalized Sunday in a three-vehicle crash in Los Angeles, a city fire official said.

The multi-vehicle crash was reported about 4:20 p.m. in the 3500 block of West Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Five of those taken to a hospital were in serious condition, Scott said.
The crash victims ranged in age from 16 to 57, he added.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
