Two suffer critical injuries in Blythe crash

Two people were critically injured in a two-vehicle crash in Blythe today, a county Fire Department spokeswoman said.

The crash was reported about 5:30 a.m. at Black Rock Road and Mesa Drive. Firefighters cut out the drivers of both vehicles, and both were transported to a hospital by helicopter,  Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Cheri Patterson said.

The cause of the crash was under investigation, she said.
