A first grade class at Evans Ranch Elementary School in Menifee is displaying a well known book character.
First grade teacher Stacee Chong’s students have been reading the popular children’s “Flat Stanley” book series, Menifee school district spokesperson Betti Cadmus wrote in a press release.
The first graders sent out about 50 Flat Stanleys all over the country and have received letters, photos and souvenirs from Hawaii and France.
The students also had the pleasure of a visit from the mayor of Menifee, John Denver and even received a letter from California’s Govenor Jerry Brown, Cadmus added.
The Flat Stanley display at the school covers an entire wall in the school’s main hallway.
“It’s quite a sight to see,” Cadmus said.
