Suspects carjack man in San Jacinto parking lot

Two suspects carjacked a man at gunpoint in San Jacinto today, fleeing in the victim’s vehicle after throwing him to the ground.

The theft occurred about 5:20 a.m. in the 600 block of North Ramona Boulevard, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim, whose identity was not released, told deputies that he was walking to his car when two masked men approached him from behind, and one of them thrust a semiautomatic pistol into his back, demanding money.

“The suspects took the victim’s vehicle keys and cellular phone from his pocket,” said sheriff’s Sgt. David Haar. “The (gun-wielding) suspect shoved the victim to the ground and stole his vehicle from the parking lot.”

The man was not injured.

The bandits were described as white or Hispanic, in their mid-20s, wearing black-hooded sweatshirts and blue jeans. No description of the stolen vehicle was provided.

Anyone with information was asked to call the sheriff’s San Jacinto station at 951-654-2702.
