Deputies arrested a San Jacinto woman, who allegedly shot at her ex-husband’s vehicle as he drove away from her residence in an apparent dispute over child visitation rights, a sheriff’s department spokesman said today.
Kavida Jeral Boozer, 36, was arrested and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats, a sheriff’s sergeant said.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m. Friday, the unidentified man arrived at Boozer’s residence in the 600 block of Apache Street to pick up their children for a child visitation weekend. He began arguing with Boozer, and as he left with the children, she fired at the vehicle with a handgun as he drove away, according to the sergeant.
Deputies arrested Boozer about two hours later, and she was being held today in lieu of $25,000 bail, with a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta, jail records showed.
