Gas prices fall slightly in the Inland Empire

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire fell 1.3 cents on Sunday May 20 to $4.341, one day after
decreasing 1.4 cents.

Despite three consecutive declines after an eight-day streak of increases, the average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 1.9 cents more than a week ago, 12.7 cents higher than one month ago and 19.7 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The falling pump prices follow last week’s nearly 30 cents per gallon decrease in the wholesale price of California-blend gasoline on the New York Mercantile Exchange, which stemmed from completion of maintenance at refineries in Southern California and Northern California, which will lead to the end of record low inventories.
