UPDATE: The couple were identified as husband and wife, Roger and Katy Winch.
Original story: A man and a woman were found dead in the backyard of a residence in Norco at 7 p.m on May 21, officials reported.
Deputies responded to the 4000 block of Crestview Drive and were unable to make contact with the residents. The deputies went around the house to the rear yard and discovered a male and female dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
The male was 72-years-old and appeared to have committed suicide and the female was 35-years-old and the victim of a homicide, a Riverside County Sheriff’s Coroner report stated.
The names of the man and woman will not be released until the next of kin is notified.
Riverside County Sheriff’s Sgt. Todd Torrenti added no further information will be released regarding this ongoing investigation.

It is a sad day when someone would commit such an act. This man and his wife operated the “Grumpy’s Jerky” cart that was at many area events, including the annual Farmer’s Fair in Perris – he was always posted up right in front of the Funnel Cake stand.
Always seemed like a nice happy couple. Can’t imagaine what would have led to this. Very sad.
