A brush fire burned more than 40 acres on a Lake Elsinore hillside and injured two firefighters before it was fully contained early today, a fire department spokeswoman said.
The blaze was reported about 5:10 p.m. Friday in the 33000 block of Cedar Creek Lane, on the southern end of the city, said CalFire’s Jody
Hagemann.
Twelve engine crews and six inmate hand crews numbering about 140 personnel worked through the night to fight the brusher, and had it fully contained by about midnight, Hagemann said.
Two firefighters were being treated, one with minor and the other with moderate injuries, she said.
Two engines were assigned to patrol the fire area today, and the cause remained under investigation, according to Hagemann.
