A fire destroyed an abandoned house near Banning, but crews were able to prevent it from spreading to nearby homes, a fire department spokeswoman said today.
The blaze in the 19000 block of Willow Street west of Banning was reported at 4:27 p.m. Saturday and was contained by 5:15 p.m., according to Cal Fire’s Jody Hagemann.
The house was a complete loss and the cause was being investigated, Hagemann said.
There were no injuries reported.
Thirteen engine crews numbering 42 firefighters responded to the blaze.
