Camp Pendleton prescribed burn sends smoke to Southwest Riverside

According to Riverside County Fire Department officials, if residents in Murrieta and Temecula smell smoke, they are not to worry.

Southwest Riverside County may experience drift smoke due to a contained prescribed burn at Camp Pendleton.

There is no threat to Riverside County, according to officials.

Residents can call the Camp Pendleton information line at 760-725-5044.

  Not very smart, do a burn on a day with temps above 90 degrees.

  I had to send an employee home after having an asthma attack due to the smoke smell in our building. Other employees have complained of chest pain. Not cool
