Tickets with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, were sold at Happy Liquor at 541 S. State College Blvd. in Anaheim, and in Rancho Cucamonga and San Francisco and are each worth $57,253, a California Lottery official announced.

Three other tickets with five numbers, but missing the Mega number were sold in Massachusetts, New Jersey and South Carolina and are each worth $250,000.

California law requires major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis.

The numbers drawn tonight were 2, 27, 38, 46, 52 and the Mega number was 45. The estimated jackpot was $12 million.

The drawing was the first since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 175,711,536, according to the Mega Millions website. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 40.

The Mega Millions game is played in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
