A puppy was rescued by a Good Samaritan after he watched a car pull to the side of Hwy 60 in Riverside and dump the helpless dog on the side of the road.
Richard Mazon was driving eastbound on Hwy 60 when he spotted the terrier-mix puppy running to keep up with the car that was speeding away, spokesperson for the Riverside County of Animal Services said in a recent report.
Mazon was able to pull over near the Pedley Road exit and rescue the dog from the passing traffic. He immediately drove the dog to his work at nearby Riva Wholesale Nursery and called the Riverside Animal Control Services, Walsh said.
“This man is a hero for this dog,” Animal Control Services Officer, Mark Visyak said. “If not for his quick thinking, the dog likely would have continued running onto the highway.”
Visyak added the outcome would have been much different if Mazon didn’t stop and rescue the abandoned puppy.
The dog’s animal ID number is A0950322. If no one comes to claim the pup, she will be available for adoption of Tuesday June 5.

What a scumbag to abandon a puppy like that! Thank goodness Mr. Mazon rescued the dog. Thanks to that kind man.
