Officials with the Wildomar Police Department are searching for a man they say approached and attempted to lure children away as they rode their bicycles, it was reported today.
According to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department report, several children riding bikes reported that a man asked for help in locating his backpack at around 7 p.m. on June 6 in the area of the Farm in Wildomar.
One of the juveniles attempted to help, but the suspect grabbed a backpack from the front of a nearby residence and fled when the child’s parent appeared, the report said.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white or fair-skinned Hispanic male adult in his 20s and 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-11 tall with short dark hair.
The man also had two large black gauge-type earrings with white insignias resembling triangles.
The suspect’s bike is described as a blue mountain bike with shock absorbers attached to the bike frame. The letter M and several miscellaneous stickers are also adhered to the bike frame.
