Juveniles accused of assaulting San Jacinto Wal-Mart employees

Deputies detained two 16-year-old Hemet males accused of trying to steal alcohol from a San Jacinto Wal-Mart and assaulting store employees, a sheriff’s department spokesman said today.

Deputies responded to a call of a battery shortly before 2 a.m. Friday at the Wal-Mart in the 1800 block of San Jacinto Avenue, according to sheriff’s Cpl. Jason Sexton.

According to store employees, two males attempted to steal alcohol, and when they were escorted out of the store, they assaulted store employees, Sexton said.

When deputies arrived, they booked one of the suspects into Southwest Juvenile Hall on suspicion of commercial burglary, assault, conspiracy and several outstanding warrants.

The second was released to his parents with charges filed out of custody, Sexton said.
