A 36-year-old Pamona man was killed in a motorcycle crash today in Fallbrook.
The man drove a 2010 BMW s100 motorcycle southbound on Del Luz Road just north of Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base about 11:20 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Jim Bettencourt said.
According to witnesses riding with the victim, he was traveling about 50 mph when he entered a curve in the roadway and failed to turn. The driver crashed head on into a tree and died at the scene, Bettencourt said. Officers were investigating and it was unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the fatal crash.
