Officials from the Perris Police Department are searching for a group of men they say fired shots that hit an eight-year-old boy in the leg, it was reported today.
The incident occurred at about 5:25 p.m. on June 14 at the intersection of Opal and Turquoise in Perris.
According to a Riverside County Sheriff’s report, “at least one person from two groups of black males fired their weapons at each other.”
The child’s injuries were not life-threatening. The suspects involved in the shooting are still at large.
Officials said that numerous witnesses have been contacted, but investigators are asking additional witnesses to come forward and give statements to the police.
