Update @ 7:26 a.m. on July 18: According to a Riverside County Sheriff’s report during the course of the investigation, Central Homicide Unit and Lake Elsinore Station investigators arrested Ted Howard, a 58-year-old Lake Elsinore man, in connection with the death of a woman inside the residence at Payne Street.
Howard was later booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of murder.
Update @ 8:27 p.m.: An official from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that a body was found at a residence located on Payne Street in Lake Elsinore, but did not say that whether it was a man or a woman.
“At approximately 4:50 p.m., we were dispatched to this location on Payne Street in reference to a possible dead body at the location,” said Riverside County Sheriff’s Lt. Daniel Anne.
Anne said that a subject was detained, but did not have information on how or “to what degree” that person was involved.
According to Anne, investigators will remain on scene for the next few hours — possibly into the early morning — to continue to investigate and gather information.
No information at the time of this posting was available as to the manner or time of death.
