Window shoppers have a new and unique visual to capture the imagination now that the Temecula Wine Walk has debuted at Promenade Temecula.
The Wine Walk is an outdoor venue where guests are invited to enjoy delectable food and wine pairings from mall-centered restaurants that are matched to Temecula winery varietals growing in the miniature vineyards that dot the breezeway.
“Each shadow box explains the varietal (type of grape) growing there. Our purpose is to educate the public on what kinds of varietals are being grown in the valley, and show what process each grape was going through at any given time,” said Wilson Creek’s Wendy Holder.
At the opening earlier this month, nearly 200 guests enjoyed pairings from area wineries and wine makers, restaurant owners, and area professionals mingled and learned about the varietals that have been transplanted from wine country to the heart of Temecula shopping.
“Promenade Temecula is thrilled to have such a distinguished list of partner wineries to team with for the Wine Walk. This is just a small sample of the food, wine and hospitality our wine growers extend to visitors to our community throughout the year,” said Promenade Temecula Director of Marketing Kym Espinosa.
“We are thrilled that the Promenade Mall is tying in with wine country,” said Leonesse Winery owner Mike Rennie.
Though the vines are young, by next year they will be bursting full of grapes and will offer an ideal window to view the happenings out in wine country. In the same vein, the Promenade Temecula is planning big things for the outdoor venue.
“Now with our partner wineries in place, we anticipate holding a variety of events here at the Wine Walk. I know South Coast Winery has expressed interest in a Shoe and Wine Pairing event. It would be a night out with the girls to learn which wine goes best with tribal woven flats, a metallic gladiator sandal, or a Prada cutout platform sling back. (It will be a) true girls’ night out where it’s all right to lose your head over heels,” Espinosa said.
Participating wineries and restaurants include: South Coast Winery Resort and Spa, Wilson Creek Winery, Leoness Cellars, Robert Renzoni Estate Vineyards, Gershon Bachus Vineyards, Briar Rose Winery, Lazy Dog Cafe, PF Chang’s China Bistro, Yard House, California Pizza Kitchen, Sushi Boat, and Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ.
