The project, located west of Haun Road along Newport Road, will be the city’s first median landscape improvement project – with others on the way.
The City Council-approved project will improve and enhance one of the city’s most highly traveled main corridors bringing new trees, plant life and color to the City.
The project consists of installing 36-inch box Fruitless Olive and 24-inch box Crepe Myrtle Trees, 15 five-and one-gallon drought tolerant California friendly shrubs, boulders, river rock and decomposed granite areas all irrigated by a new point to point drip irrigation system. Two monuments, welcoming all to the city of Menifee, will be installed at each end of the median.
Adame Landscape, Inc. is completing the project, which should be finished in two to three weeks. The irrigation and planting will be installed first and the monuments will be erected in a few weeks when they arrive.
The City asks motorist to watch out for the cone zone and to be patient during construction times, estimated to be between the hours of 9am and 3pm daily.
