Menifee: Four armed burglars are behind bars after unsuccessful break-in attempt

Four armed robbers who attempted to break into a Menifee home were unable to gain access to the home and were arrested.

On June 26 just before 2:30 p.m. officers from the Menifee Police Department responded to the 28400 block of Secret Harbor Drive after neighbors reported seeing four African-American men attempting to break down the front door of the home.

After trying to enter the residence through the front door, the suspects went into the back of the house and tried to break through a downstairs window, Sgt. Hoxmeier said.

Officers established a perimeter and a Riverside County Sheriff’s helicopter was brought in to help apprehend the suspects.

As the four burglars were fleeing the area in a car, they were caught, identified and arrested.

While searching the suspect’s vehicle, deputies located a handgun along with several items that were suspected to be stolen property.

Hemet residents 19-year-old Rodney Jeter and 18-year-old Keith Woods were booked in the Riverside County Jail on charges of  attempted burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of a firearm, a Riverside County Sheriff’s press release stated.

Two male juveniles were also arrested and booked into the Riverside County Juvenile Hall on similar charges.

Anyone with additional details regarding this crime is urged to call the Menifee Police Department at 951-210-1000.

At least twice in this article, the word “suspect’s” is used. The apostrophe is incorrect. This lack of care to details puts your credibility into question.

They targeted this house because it is in a good neighborhood. The house had children in it and a woman, who is a friend of my family.
