A 44-year-old motorist was killed today when her car veered off the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway, plunged down an embankment and overturned.
Rosa Ramirez Hernandez of Los Angeles died around 5:15 a.m. in the wreck on the eastbound 60 Freeway, just east of Theodore Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Hernandez’s 1997 Toyota Camry drifted onto the dirt center divider, then back across all eastbound lanes of the 60 and onto the right shoulder, said CHP Officer Steve Carapia.
“The vehicle traveled down the dirt embankment, where it overturned several times, coming to rest on its roof against a tree,” he said.
Hernandez, who was wearing her seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
