Two Temecula men are behind bars after they advertised a stolen iPhone on Craigslist, officials reported.
On June 26, Temecula police were called regarding the iPhone theft.
Two days later the phone was advertised on Craigslist.
Officers from the Temecula Police Department Problem-Oriented Policing team responded to the ad and arranged to purchase the phone.
Golden Marqueses, 25, and Leon Parker, 29, were detained in the area of Ynez Road and Winchester Road when they arrived to sell the phone.
A search of the suspects turned up the iPhone, Sgt. Gaskins said.
Both men were subsequently arrested and booked into the Southwest Detention Center.
Anyone with additional information about this theft is urged to contact Officer Matt Hunter at 951-696-3000.

It’s good to see police thinking creatively. There’s a lot more we can expect from our police — specifically, how to sustain their improvement. For answers see my new book, “Arrested Development: A Veteran Police Chief Sounds Off About Protest, Racism, Corruption and the Seven Steps Necessary to Improve Our Nation’s Police” (Amazon.com) and visit my blog at http://improvingpolice.wordpress.com.
