Good shot: Firefighters rescue woman stuck in pool table

Firefighters were called out to a North Park bar early today to free a 22-year-old woman whose arm got stuck inside a pool table, city fire personnel said.

“I don’t know if she was going for an engagement ring or what, but she put her arm all the way in,” said Sharon Rangel, a bartender at the U31 Bar and Cocktail Lounge on University Avenue at 31st Street.

The nightside staff called for help about 1:45 a.m., according to a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher.

Firefighters spent about 30 minutes disassembling the pool table to free the woman’s appendage, the dispatcher said. Rescuers disassembled the bottom of the pool table, Rangel said.

The woman was not taken to a hospital, the dispatcher said.

And the table?

“It’s OK, I’ve got people playing on it right now,” Rangel told City News Service.
