Deputies arrived at the scene and observed a heavily damaged 2008 Scion on the sidewalk.

As deputies talked with witnesses, a man approached them and informed them he was the driver of the Scion.

The man told officers he was attempting to navigate a turn when he hit the curb and a block wall, Sgt. Eichelt stated in a report.

Edgar Limon, 34, was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested and booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio on charges of driving under the influence.
