A magnitude-4.3 earthquake, followed several hours later by a magnitude-3.0 temblor, was recorded near the Mexican city of Guadalupe Victoria in Baja California, the epicenter of a magnitude-7.2 quake that struck on Easter Day 2010.
The magnitude-4.3 quake was recorded at 12:54 a.m. and centered about 106 miles east-southeast of San Diego, according to preliminary reading from the U.S. Geological Survey.
At 4:24 a.m., a magnitude-3.0 was recorded in the same vicinity.
The April 4, 2010, quake was expected to produce noticeable aftershocks for a decade or more.
