$86 million Mega Millions lottery ticket sold in New York

One ticket with all six numbers in tonight’s multi-state Mega Millions draw was sold in New York and its owner must decide whether to accept the estimated cash value of $65.3 million or receive 26 annual payments of approximately $3.3 million each before taxes.

A ticket with five numbers, but missing the Mega number were sold at Quick Pick Liquor & Market at 4120-24 E. South St. in Lakewood and is worth $298,026, a California Lottery official announced.

Three other tickets with five numbers, but missing the Mega number were also sold, one each in Colorado, Georgia and Ohio and are each worth $250,000.

California law requires major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis.

The numbers drawn tonight were 3, 4, 24, 36, 52 and the Mega number was 45.

The drawing was the 10th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 175,711,536, according to the Mega Millions website. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 40.

The Mega Millions game is played in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The jackpot for Friday’s draw will be $12 million.
