Beaumont: Boy narrowly escapes drowning in pool

A 6-year-old boy was hospitalized in serious condition after nearly drowning this afternoon in a community swimming pool in Beaumont.

The boy was pulled unconscious from a pool in the 36100 block of Champions Drive around 5:15 p.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

By the time paramedics arrived, the child was breathing, officials said.
