Authorities asked the public today for help in identifying a man who slipped his cell phone underneath a woman’s skirt at a Kearny Mesa store, apparently so he could take lewd photos or video.
The victim was shopping when she felt something touching one of her legs about 3:30 p.m. last Wednesday, according to San Diego police.
When she turned around, she saw a man kneeling behind her, holding a cellular phone under her dress, SDPD public-affairs Lt. Andra Brown said.
The woman yelled for help, and she and a store employee chased the man, who ran off into the surrounding neighborhood.
The perpetrator was described as a clean-shaven, roughly 5-foot-9-inch white or Hispanic man between 25 and 35 years old. He was wearing black knee-length shorts and a white T-shirt, and had his dark hair combed straight back.
Anyone with information about the incident, part of which was captured on surveillance video, is asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
