Toddler dies after being run over in parking lot

A toddler who wandered away from his mother was hit and run over by a truck travelling through a parking lot, officials reported.

On Thursday July 5 at about 2:30 p.m., Temecula Police Officers responded to the parking lot of Caro’s Bakery located in the 28900 block of Old Town Front Street.

Officers learned a white Chevy pick-up was travelling south in the parking lot when 3-year-old Sean Abude was hit by the truck, Sgt. Leggett said.

The little boy was transported to Rancho Springs Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Temecula Police Department’s Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team conducted a lengthy investigation after the incident. They will release the cause or associated factor contributing to the accident upon completion of their investigation.
