Riverside County kids will have a chance to come face to face with critters at the Critter Kiddz Camp being hosted by the Riverside County Animal Services Department.
The camp begins on Monday July 16 and runs through Friday July 27 and is open for kids ages 6-11 years.
The camp starts at 9 a.m. and ends at noon each day at the main shelter in Jurupa Valley.
Campers will have a chance to meet an alligator, llama, bunnies, reptiles and many homeless pets at the shelter, Animal Services spokesperson John Welsh explained.
Children will also learn to appreciate and respect pets and how to be safe around animals.
The theme for week one is “Animal Adventures” and week two is “Animal Detectives”.
The cost of the camp is $100 for one week or $175 for both weeks.
