Two double-wide trailers were damaged today in a fire at a Jurupa Valley mobile home park, but no one was injured.
The blaze at the Avalon Mobile Lodge at 3319 Avalon St., near 34th Street, began around 11:30 a.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department. Sheriff’s deputies were the first to arrive and reported two trailers aflame, prompting immediate evacuations of surrounding units.
Power lines were down at the location, but it was unclear whether that’s what triggered the fire, according to a fire department spokeswoman. At least one double-wide was destroyed, she said.
Eight engine crews and a ladder truck company, numbering around 41 firefighters, got the blaze under control within 30 minutes.
Crews were expected to remain at the scene, mopping up, for several hours.
