Three Long Beach residents are in custody after officers with the Lake Elsinore station conducted a vehicle check July 10 in the hillsides near the intersection of Eucalyptus Ave. and Quail Drive near Perris, it was reported.
Joel Melena, 23, Noe Ochoa, 18, and Marco Coronel, 19, were arrested after officers searched the area surrounding the suspects and determined that weapons had been fired recently at the scene, officials said.
According to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department report, deputies conducted a thorough search of the area and located three firearms including a stolen revolver, an unregistered rifle, and a rifle that had the serial numbers removed.
A search of the vehicle also uncovered evidence linking the three men to the recovered firearms, officials said.
Anyone with additional information regarding these events, or any other criminal activity is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Department at (951) 245-3300, or after hours and weekends by calling (951) 776-1099.
