An autopsy was pending today on an attempted robbery suspect shot to death by a Riverside County sheriff’s deputy in Jurupa Valley.
The man, whose name was unavailable early today, was fatally shot about 9 a.m. Saturday in the 3600 block of Pacific Avenue, according to sheriff’s deputies.
He allegedly tried to rob someone.
“When one of the deputies caught up to the suspect, the suspect stated he had a gun and threatened to shoot the officer,” Deputy Angel Ramos said.
“The officer, in fear of his life, fired his duty weapon, striking the suspect.”
