The minivan was traveling about 70-75 miles per hour directly to the right of a 2008 Scion TC driven at the same speed by a 24-year-old Temecula woman, Parent said.

The two vehicles collided for an unknown reason and both drivers lost control. The Scion spun within the southbound lanes and came to rest facing south. The driver then moved the wrecked car to the center median, Parent said.

The minivan spun toward the median and overturned. One juvenile male passenger was ejected from the vehicle and another was partially ejected, Parent said.

Both sustained fatal injuries.

The minivan continued to overturn across the median and into the two left northbound lanes where it came to rest on its wheels, Parent said.

The Scion’s driver was not injured. The minivan’s driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, Parent said. Four of the minivan’s passengers sustained various injuries and were also hospitalized, Parent said.

Two left lanes on the northbound 15 were closed as California Highway Patrol officers investigated the crash.

What caused the crash remained under investigation. The CHP asked anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them with information.
