Authorities today identified a man who was fatally injured when he was crushed beneath the rear double wheels of a loaded refrigerator trailer in a Jurupa Valley motel parking lot.
The injury happened about 1:50 p.m. Sunday at the Motel 6 in the 6800 block of Valley Way, according to Jurupa Valley police Sgt. James Woodland.
Scott Spath, 55, whose hometown was unknown, died at Riverside Community Hospital, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau.
Spath apparently was sleeping between the wheels of the trailer, Woodland said.
The truck driver stopped when he saw the victim in his rear view mirror.
