A woman who allegedly attacked her boyfriend with a knife, inflicting life-threatening wounds, during a domestic squabble at their Good Hope residence was behind bars today in lieu of $1 million bail.
Kathy Monsivaiz, 44, was booked on suspicion of attempted murder at the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside after allegedly stabbing her live-in boyfriend multiple times on Sunday night, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
According to sheriff’s Sgt. Patrick Chavez, deputies were called to 22050 Mountain Ave. around 9:30 p.m. to investigate reports of a man injured.
Chavez said that on arriving, deputies found a 41-year-old man who alleged that Monsivaiz had stabbed him with “an unknown type of cutting instrument” during a verbal altercation.
The victim was taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where he remains in critical condition.
Monsivaiz was taken into custody without incident.
