Cabazon: Locomotive catches fire, no injuries reported

The motor compartment of a Union Pacific locomotive caught fire in Cabazon on Thursday July 26, but no one was hurt, a county fire department spokeswoman said.

The fire was reported about 6:15 a.m. on Railroad Avenue, a quarter-mile west of Haugen Lehman Way, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said.

It was unclear what time the fire was put out.

“All train personnel are off the car and were unharmed,” Hagemann said.
