La Quinta: Robbers attempt to drown a man in his tub, suspects at large

Two men terrorized a man in his home on Saturday July 28 at around 7:30 p.m., in La Quinta, officials reported.

Officers responded to the scene in the 47-000 block of Dancing Butterfly and learned the 63-year-old man was in his bathroom when he heard a ruckus in the kitchen.

Shortly after hearing the noises, two Hispanic men entered the bathroom and attacked the frightened man and attempted to drown him in the bathtub, Sgt. Mike Tapp explained.

The man fought back and the suspects ran from the house in an unknown direction.

The victim was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The suspects are described as Hispanic men, in their mid-twenties. One suspect was 5 feet 11 inches tall, heavyset and wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans. He had dark hair and wore dark gloves.

The other suspect was 5 feet 9 inches tall, thin build and had brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans and black gloves.
