Burglars tried to blackmail a man after stealing his computer which contained child pornography images, it was reported.
Members of the Moreno Valley Robbery and Burglary Suppression Teams, Detective Bureau, patrol and the Moreno Valley Special Enforcement Team served a search warrant in the 23900 block of Pine Field Drive in Moreno Valley.
The warrant was related to a burglary that occurred on July 29 in the 23700 block of Redbark Drive in Moreno Valley.
The burglary investigation led detectives to three suspects, two juveniles and one adult, Sgt. Walter Mendez said.
One of the suspects admitted to stealing a laptop that contained child porn in a second burglary he committed. The suspects said they tried to extort money from the man who owned the laptop.
Moreno Valley resident, Tibbals Beal,63, was determined to be the owner of the laptop and arrested for possessing child pornography, a sheriff’s report stated.
The Moreno Valley Police Department has a “Zero Tolerance” policy toward criminal activity and will be vigilant in investigating all crimes.
