Smoke from Warner Springs fire drifts into Temecula

Temecula residents  smelling smoke are not imaging things.

A fire burning east of Temecula in Warner Springs in San Diego County is sending up a lot of smoke, according to Melody Hendrickson, spokeswoman with Riverside County Fire Department.

That fire was first reported at 4 p.m. at Chihuahua Valley Rd. and is not considered a threat to Riverside County residents, Hendrickson said.

A number of other fires have ravaged the region today, including a blaze that destroyed several structures in Wildomar and two small brush fires that scorched roughly 3-5 acres at Mitchell and Bonita Vista roads in Anza.

Those fires were ignited by dry lightening strikes.
