Join Mt. San Jacinto College as it celebrates the grand opening of its new Humanities & Social Sciences building on the Menifee Valley Campus on Sept. 14, 2012.

The event, which starts at 6 p.m., is part of the MSJC Foundation’s Sunset Jazz & Wine Fest and will kick off events to celebrate the college’s 50th anniversary.
The events are open to the public.
The Foundation’s Sunset Jazz & Wine Fest includes wine tasting, food pairing and live music by MSJC’s Menifee Jazz Ensemble. Local artists will display and sell art during the event.
Tickets to the event are $40 each or $75 for two.
Funds raised go to the foundation to support student scholarships, faculty mini grants and college programs.
The event is open to the public and MSJC Alumni are encouraged to attend.
As part of MSJC’s 50th anniversary year, a team of MSJC Multimedia Department students and instructors called the 50th Anniversary Project will film the grand opening ceremonies. The team is encouraging the community to get involved in the film and support Mt. San Jacinto College at the ribbon cutting ceremony.
“This inspirational biography will detail the story of a college that has supported the local community of Riverside County for half a century,” production manager Laura Rundell wrote. “Under the expert direction of Jerome Billins, Tom Merritt, and Don Smith, this documentary is destined to become a big hit—and what’s more, a beautiful record of all that the college has accomplished.”
The documentary will premiere as a short film at the annual MSJC Foundation Gala on February 9, 2013 at Pechanga Resort & Casino. This year’s gala will focus on 50 years of the college.
The Humanities & Social Sciences Building on the Menifee Valley Campus is 100 percent state funded. The project is on-time and under budget. For more information about the building, visit www.msjc.edu/MVCbuilding1.
