Coroners today said the body found floating off the Ocean Beach Pier was that of 34-year-old Pacific Beach man.
Lawrence James Booth’s body was pulled from the water after a fisherman spotted the corpse floating near the southwest leg of the pier shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Lifeguard officials said the the body, which was found with no identification, was brought ashore in a rescue boat.
It was unclear how long the body had been in the water, but death was confirmed at the scene due to the onset of rigor mortis, the medical examiner’s office reported.
An autopsy had yet to be performed.
