Two hikers were transported to a hospital for treatment today after one had an allergy attack and the other got dehydrated on the so-called “Bump and Grind” Trail in Palm Desert.
Firefighters went to the trail about 6:20 a.m. to reach the hikers, who were about a mile up. At first, firefighters planned to hoist one hiker to safety, but both were able to walk down, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.
It was unclear how long they had been hiking.
